Kiefer Sutherland Suspends Filming Of 24

Kiefer Sutherland has been forced to suspend filming of ‘24’ to have minor surgery.

Sutherland - who plays government agent Jack Bauer - has halted production of the counter-terrorism drama after to allow him to bring forward an operation after he reportedly suffered from a ruptured cyst near his
kidney last week.

Cast and crew continued filming without him until Friday Feb. 12,’10, but have decided to suspend the show until the Sutherland is feeling well again.

His publicist told the Los Angeles Times: “While Kiefer Sutherland is frustrated to miss even one day of work, he and Fox decided together that it would be best to complete this minor elective procedure now as
a precaution as opposed to six weeks from now when production wraps. He looks
forward to returning to work next week.”

Network Fox have confirmed the actor’s break from filming and are confident it will not cause any disruption to the broadcasting schedule.

A spokesperson for the network said: “We are temporarily suspending production of ‘24’ while our friend and colleague Kiefer Sutherland undergoes a medical procedure. We hope to resume production shortly and do not
anticipate any disruption in the broadcast of this season’s episodes.”
